In the name of God Amen I Morgan William of the pishe of Goytrey in the County of Monmoth yeo’m being sick in body but of sound & pfect memory praysed be to God doe make and ordaine this my last will & testamt in maner and forme followinge.

First I bequeath my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker hoping that through ye meritorious death & passion of Jesus Christ my only saviour & redeemer to receive free pardon & forgivenes of all my sins. And as for my body to be buried in Christian buriall at the discression of my executors here after named.

Ite I give devise and bequeath the tenem’t wherein I now inhabite and all the lands with thapp’tences thereunto belonging unto Martha my now wedded wife dureing her widowhood onely and if shee hapens to marry and to take to her an other husband then my will is that from and after such inter mariadge the said tenem’t wth all the lands apptences thereunto belonging in the pish of Goytrey & County aforesd I give devise & bequeath unto my sonne Rowland Morgan and to his heires for ever. And if she continues sole & unmaried dureinge her life then after her decease I give devise & bequeath the said tenem’t lands wth its apptences unto my said sonne Rowland & to his heires for ever.

And in case my said sonne Rowland dieth leaving noe yssue law fully begotten then I give devise & bequeath the tenem’t aforesd wth the lands & its apptences unto my daughter Mary Morgan & to her heires for ever. Itm my will & true meaning is that my said wife Martha shall have & enioy noe more of my estate & premisses aforesd (at the full age of one & twenty yeares of my sd sonne Rowland) but onely her thirds maried or unmaried and that shee is to have during her naturall life but onely fire boote headgboote & plowboote to … noe wilful wast thereupon.

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary tenn pounds to be paid her in tenn yeares after the acomplishing of my sonn Rowland to the age of one and twenty yeares. And that non of the wood upon the premisses shalbe sould dureinge the nonage of my said sonne Rowland. Itm my will is and I doe give & bequeath all my stock in cattle, horses and sheepe unto my wife Martha towards the paym’t of my debts (vizt) forty shillings to my brother Jenkin, three pounds to Elizabeth Richard, tenn shillings to Elizabeth William Thomas, five & twenty shillings to Peter Charles and forty shillings to Ann John.

Itm I doe further give & allow the worth of tenne shillings of wood to be sold towards my funeral expences. And doe hereby no’iate and appoynt my sd sonne Rowland to be my sole executor of this my last will & testamt. Court of Landaffe unto ye above bounden Jane Evans of all ye goods credits chattels & chattels of ye above mention’d William Evans her late husband deceased, if therefore ye said Jane Evans doe make or cause to be made a true and pfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattles and credits of the sayd deceased wch have or shall come to the hands possion or knowledge of the sayd Jane Evans or into the hands possion or knowledge of any other pson or psons for her and the same soe made doe exhibite or cause to be exhibited into the Registry of the Episcopall Courte of Landaffe at or before the last day of 9ber next ensuing and the same goods chattles and credits of the sayd deceased at the tyme of his death wch at any tyme after shall come to the hands or possion of the sayd Jane Evans or into the hands or possion of any other pson or psons for her doe well and truly administer according to law. And further doe make or cause to be made a true and pfect accompt of the sayd administration at or before the 19th day of 7ber in ye yeare 1685. and all the rest and residue of the sayd goods chattles and credits wch shall be found remayning upon the sayd administrators accompt the same being examined and allowed by the Judge or Judges for the tyme being of the sayd Courte shall deliver and pay unto such pson or psons respectively as the sayd Judge or Judges by his or their decree or sentence pursuant to the true intent and meaning of a certaine Act of Parliament intituled an act for the better setling of intestate estates shall lymite and appoint and if it shall heareafter appeare that any last will and testament was made by the deceased and the executor or executors therein named makeing request to have it allowed and approved of accordingly if the sayd Jane Evans wth in bounden being thereunto required doe render and deliver the sayd letters of Administration approbation of such testament being first had and made in the sayd Courte, then this pr’sent obligation to be voyd and of none effect, else the same to be and remayne in full force and vertue. First and principaly I comend my soule into the hands of the Almighty God in whome through his meritorious death and passion to be saved in Christ Jesus, and my body to be buried in the parish church of Goitrey.

I give and bequeath towards the Cathedrall Church of Landaph one shilling.

Ite I give devise and bequeath unto David my sone one howse two gardens and one meadow and three parcells of land being and being within the parish of Goitry there adioning to other lands in Lanvair Gilgidin.

Ite I give and bequeath one meadow called Y Pownd Ycha, one other meadow called Y Pownd Issa and one other pcell of ground called Kae Yr Pownd being and being in Lanvair Gilgidin with a lane leading from the lands of Morgan William John and from thence to the mill of Lanvair Gilgidin unto David my said son and to his heires for ever upon condition and intention that he the [page damaged. It my mind and meaning is that Ales my wief is to pay the sume of twenty shillings within the space of one yeare after my decease unto David my son.

I give and bequeath all my howshould mplements whatsoever unto my beloved wief and Peeter my sone excepting one cupboard one table and one beadsteed unto David my son after the decease of my daughter Elizabeth unto David my sone.

Ite I give and bequeath all my corn in the howse and all my corne growing whatsoever betweene my beloved wiefe and Peeter my sone joyntly uppon condition that Ales my said wief and Peeter my said sone shall discharge and pay unto Jane my daughter the sume of tenn pownds that is to say the sume of five pownds within the space of one yeare after my decease and the like sume of five pownd the second yeare after my decease.

First I bequeath my sin full soule into the hands of my gratious Lord God & maker in a hopefull expectacon of eternall life through all the sufficient meritts of my deare Saviour & redeemer Jesus Christ and that my body be intered according to Christian buriall &c.

Item I give devise and bequeath one parcell of lands comonly called Capen yr hewl and the plott of grownd adioyning to the same, late by me fenced and joyning to Pelleny Comon and a free lyberty to inhabite in my now dwelling house wth use of the gardens thereunto belonging and comonly used and the new house or stable lately by me built, unto my two sisters Margarett and Elizabeth during their naturall lives and the longest liver of them both and after their decease and the decease of the longest liver of them I doe give devise and bequeath all my said tenem’t lands & hereditaments unto my loveing brother William Thomas dureing his naturall life and after his decease I give devise & bequeath all the said tenem’ts and lands unto his sonne William my nephew and to his heires for ever.

Item I give and bequeath all my corne growing and in my house unto my two sister Margarett & Elizabeth to be equally devided between them both.

Item I give and bequeath forty shillings to my said brother Jenkin being money due to me and lent unto Thomas Watkin of Munckswood smyth my said brother to take upp & receive the sume imediately after my decease.

I give and bequeath forty shillings to be equally devided between my two nephews Gwillym Jenkin sonns William and Thomas the said forty shillings now in the hands of John Edmond.

Item I give and bequeath tenn shillings unto Mawd Harry late wife of David Morgan.

Item I give & bequeath unto Marsly the wife of David Richard John the sd twenty shillings now in the hands of Jane Charles widow.

Item I give and bequeath forty shillings to my sister Margarett.

Item I give & bequeath forty shillings to my sister Marry.

Item I give & bequeath twenty shillings to my sister Alce and the ox wch I paid three pounds for it I give & bequeath between my brother law Evan Watkin & his two children.

Item I give & bequeath forty shillings to my sister Elizabeth. Item I give & bequeath forty shillings unto my sister Anne.

Item I give & bequeath fowr pounds due from my brother William to be equally devided between the three children of my said brother William Thomas vizt thirty shillings to each of them William, Elias and Mary.

Item I give and bequeath towards my funerall expences all my sheepe young and ould to be disposed of by my executor hereafter named.

Item I give all my bacon now in the house unto my sister Margarett.

Item I give and bequeath six pounds and fourteen shillings that Oliver Morgan oweth me and alsoe their lawfull interest sithence Michellmas last past and like wise five pounds due to me by bond from Phillip William Morgan wth their lawfull use unto my executor to be disposed of and towards the paym’t of my legacies afore menconed.

Item I doe give bequeath and allow hedge buote & fire buote to my two sisters Margarett & Elizabeth to be spent and used on the premisses during their tearme as aforesaid wthout any interupcon whatsoever.

Item I doe hereby nominate & appoynt my loveing sister Elizabeth William my sole executrix of this my last will & Testamt revoking all other former wills by me made.
