Elizabeth Absolem – Goytrey
In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth Absalom of the parish of Goytrey in the County of Monmouth widow being in health of body and of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, praised be God for the same, do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following. I give, devise and bequeath to my loving nephew William Griffiths and Sarah his wife, all my mony, securities for mony, goods, chattels estates and effects of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever the same shall be at the time of my death. And I do nominate constitute and appoint my said nephew sole executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all and every other will or wills at any time heretofore by me at any time made and do declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Absalom have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of February 1815. The mark of Elizabeth Absalom
Signed, sealed, declared and published by the above named Elizabeth Absalom as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us, who at her request, and in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto. Joseph Griffiths junr; William Moses
7th day of October 1817 William Griffiths the lawful nephew and sole executor named in this Will was duly sworn as such and that the personal estate and effects of the deceased do not amount in value to the sum of twenty pounds before me Chas Powell AM, Surrogate
William Griffiths of the parish of Goytre in the County of Monmouth shoemaker executor named in the last Will and Testament of Elizabeth Absalom of the parish of Goytre in the County of Monmouth who died on the fifteenth day of July 1817, maketh oath that he hath made diligent search and due enquiry after and in respect of the personal estate and effects of the said deceased, in order to ascertain the full amount and value thereof; and that to the best of his knowledge, information and belief, the whole of the goods, chattles, and credits, of which the said deceased died, possessed within the Diocese of Landaff, (exclusive of what the deceased may have been possessed of, or entitled to as a trustee for any other person or persons, and not beneficially, but including the leasehold estates for years of the deceased, whether absolute or determinable on lives, and without deducting any thing on account of the debts due and owing from the deceased), are under the value of twenty pounds.
